Diwali is one of the brightest festivals of our country! Celebrated for five days, Diwali is the celebration of good over evil. It’s that time of the year when you have friends and family coming over for dinner or even a full-fledged cards party! If your busy calendar hasn’t allowed you to spend some time on planning the decor of your home, then here are quick easy and brisk Diwali decor ideas that will save your day. I have my friend radhika who is an expert in making DIYs who will create these interesting decor ideas to give your house extra sparkle.
- Flower Decor : Take square shaped colorful papers preferably yellow (for flowers) and (green for leaves), a pair of scissors, a needle and a thread to combine all these together.For flowers, we need to cut the papers into 4 equal squares and fold it at the corner to give it a triangle shape. Now draw a U shape and cut it.Once you open it, you will find a nice flower shaped paper in front of you.Similarly to make leaves, you take a square shaped green paper and fold it (as shown in video), draw the shape and cut it accordingly. Your leaf is ready.The final step is to sew it together and make it into a nice garland that you can hang on your doors to brighten up the space. It makes the entire house very cheerful.
- Floating Candle Decoration – For that we need a flat bottom vessel, some water, fresh flower petals and colorful floating candles. Fill the vessel with water, throw some bright colorful flowers in the water and also put some floating candles along with it. Light them and place the vessel at your doorstep or in the living room to totally spruce up your homes.
- Fire Cracker Table Top – This decor is an instant hit to make your diwali party brighter and cheerful. This can be kept around your dining table along with the food spread to give it a cheerful Diwali look.For this we need glitter paper, a pair of scissors, stapler, double sided tape, plastic ribbon, fevicol, wooden stick, you can even use chopsticks. Cut the glitter paper into a square. For the head of the rocket, cut another glitter paper into a circle and slit it in between.To make a base of the rocket, take the square shaped glitter paper and make a cylinder.Staple it from both the sides.For the head of the rocket, overlap the circle shape paper and staple it.Now put all these together. Take the ribbon, twirl up with a scissor. Stick a double sided tape around the stick and stick the ribbons on one side and put it into the cylinder. Stick it. Once this is done. Put some fevicol on the edge of the cylinder and put the rocket top and leave it to dry. Your rocket table tops are ready. Put them into a glass and use it as a table decor for card parties and Diwali get together..
